19 of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hardcourt
A revitalized the Russian player secured his maiden championship for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition championship match.
Medvedev, a former number one, has experienced a torrid season, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a setback at the American major.
Medvedev's varied form on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in specific - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately separating with long-term coach Gilles Cervara.
Currently working with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has gradually improved in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Moutet.
It is Medvedev's initial championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard court after that period of the previous year.
The win also means Medvedev has secured 21 victories at twenty-one distinct events.
"For the first time I have attended a event with my two daughters together, so to win a trophy is particularly special," stated tennis professional Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my child her name, because the maiden victory I won when my older daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had been defeated in his previous six championship matches, including in that event earlier this year.
His defensive strategy and regular outbursts on the playing surface had led some to wonder if his ability to compete at the highest level was over.
Yet the athlete has altered his approach in recent weeks, striving to come to the net and perform assertively, reinforced by an better serve.
The champion recovered from a break down in the opening set against the tricky Moutet, winning four of the concluding five exchanges to take the lead.
The competitors exchanged service breaks in the second set before Moutet, attempting for his first professional title, seized the initiative to create a final set.
The opponent defended four initial opportunities in a competitive third set before the Russian broke to that score to close out the victory.
Fittingly, Medvedev clinched the win with a rally at the net, with Moutet unable to control a shot after over two and a half hours.
